From the Archives: The Last Word

Back in Wellington, our previous Pastor approached me about painting a summary series for our Easter series "The Last Word", which was based on the last words of Jesus on the Cross before he died in our place.

The challenge was set, to visually summarise the previous weeks message in a way that would all come together at the end. Following are the canvases that make up each week and below you will see the before.

I wanted to create a piece that would come together physically, not just as a side-by-side series, but one that would reveal the truth of the cross once they all came together.

This was achieved by using masking fluid to create a cross over all the canvases that would later be revealed at the end of the series.
