'When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.'
John 19:26-27 NLT
Jesus is the ultimate example of compassion, his heart for us was his motivation to save us. And we can live from and by his example.
This weeks painting tries to depict that we are surrounded by God and His eternal love, like a circle that never ends neither does His love for us. As we receive this gift of grace and love, we are reminded that the greatest gift is one that is shared.
Therefore as thanks to God, we can share His love, His truth, and our salvation. We honor God by honoring others, and thus another circle begins.
Like 'Pay it Forward' honor can become a chain reaction. As we honor God by honoring others, we will we find the voice that God has given us and in turn we release others to find their voice.
A small gesture like a smile or a hello has the power to make someone in the shadows feel noticed, and to feel worthy. As Christians we know that we can't judge and are called to make disciples. We to shine God's light in the darkness to bring hope and grace.
We have received it freely, and so we have no right to judge who is next. It's a gift for one and all and the more we share that honor, His love and grace, the more impact we'll have on the culture of our society and can change it from one of dishonor, to one of honor.
